November 22nd is the day we leave. With each family we met at the airport. We said goodbye to them before customs control. It was very hard. We realize how much we have been attached to our host family. A few minutes later we spoke with a hostess who spoke French and then took a picture with the pilots of the plane. We were even invited into the cockpit before takeoff. We flew to 1pm and arrived at 8am on November 23nd Saturday. We were very happy to see our families and friends. Monday morning...

Today, November 12th. We now have a week and a half left before leaving the American continent. With Sarah,a humanities teacher, we went to see a college basketball game. We left around 5:30 pm and ate at a Pizzeria before the game. Then, we took our tickets and we settled in the gym. There were already a few people in the stands. The match was Seattle University VS Pacific Oregon Boxers. Seattle won 115 to 81. In the room there was a good atmosphere and we were very happy to have shared this...

On the 27th, with Athena's family we went to the Space Needle. The Space Needle is a 185m tall tower located in downtown Seattle. It dominates the city in it's green park of "Seattle Center". Impossible to miss it. The space needle was built in 1962 during the great century 21 exhibition. This futuristic tower has become the emblem of the city. Once out of the elevator that was going up at a dizzying speed, I was amazed by the magnitude of Seattle. You could admire Seattle's magnificent...

Today was the big day of our charity race. It was our first step in volunteer action. This morning we shared a quick reminder of the event at Community Meeting. With the help of a man named Nate who works in utility services, we were able to transport our equipment to Cal Anderson Park. The race loop measured approximately 400m. Many passerbyes were curious about what it could be. Around 3pm the first runners arrived. Some walked and some ran, remembering their pastry at the end (cookie /...

Today, Oct. 19, we have spent almost half of our time in the United States. I feel like I have been here for only for 1 week. Last Wednesday during « Pajama Day » we presented our humanitarian project to the school. We spoke at the community meeting which takes place once a week on Wednesday mornings. At first we dreaded talking to the 500 students of Northwest, but soon the stress went down. Our project is to raise funds for the Seattle Children's Research Institute. For this, we decided to...

Two weeks have already passed. Time passes so quickly here. This weekend we went to Portland which is a city south of Seattle in the state of Oregon. We left for two days with the cross-country team to participate in a race. The evening of the cross we all went to eat in Food Trucks. It was atypical. On Saturday, the day of the race, we could notice that there were many runners from different states (about 5,000 people). We arrived at the place at 8.30am. There were different races for each...
