The story of the ferry

On the 26th of october, I went on a ferry to go to Vashon Island. Washington State is home to the largest ferry fleet in the US, and some of these run out of Seattle. Thanks to them, you can do a day trip pretty easily. A ferry to Vashon Island, one of the landmasses visible from Seattle, departs out of Fauntleroy terminal just south of West Seattle (near the place my hostfamily lives). While you can walk on to this ferry, it’s really better to bring the car or your bike along as Vashon is big enough (about the size of Manhattan) and rural enough that getting from one spot to the next is best with wheels. So that's what we did. The view on the boat was very pretty. Vashon is only accessible by ferry so it’s a pretty peaceful part of the Puget Sound. Vashon Island has small businesses and can be an artistic place to explore. It's a beautiful island, with farms, beaches and an history. We went to see the light house.

It's BEAUTIFUL... They are magnificent landscapes. You are lucky to live this beautiful excursion. Make the most of Seattle before you return.

Thank you for your message. We have almost three more weeks in Seattle so we will try to have enough time to do everything we want.
Vashon Island was very pretty and very different from Seattle. A lot of trees, farms and nature.

Morgane, I enjoyed reading this blog post about our “day trip” to Vashon and Maury Islands. Our family has always loved taking the Washington State ferries — they lead us to magical adventures, like ours together last weekend.
I think we’ll have time for more magic and discovery in the days remaining before you leave. Up next: Halloween and trick or treating.

One week now after Halloween: we’ve had to give away some of our candy. Too much here! But, our carved pumpkins are still guarding the front door and porch.
