Today, Oct. 19, we have spent almost half of our time in the United States. I feel like I have been here for only for 1 week. Last Wednesday during « Pajama Day » we presented our humanitarian project to the school. We spoke at the community meeting which takes place once a week on Wednesday mornings. At first we dreaded talking to the 500 students of Northwest, but soon the stress went down. Our project is to raise funds for the Seattle Children's Research Institute. For this, we decided to organize a kind of race in the form of a telethon, so there is no ranking and awards for first place. Each participant will get a pastry at the end of their race. This will take place on Wednesday the 23rd after classes. In addition, we made flyers that we put around the school and gave them to students. People who could not participate in the race but still wanted to make a donation could go to our donation table during the various breaks and lunch to give what they wanted. We hope that our project will prosper under the best conditions.

Was everything OK? How did you feel while organizing the race and raising funds? Do you think the students in Emmanuel Mounier High should be encouraged to take action like that?
